Diagnostic Evaluation

Initial appointments with Dr Froude are scheduled for 60 minutes. In these first sessions he will spend time getting to know you and taking a thorough history, working towards a diagnostic evaluation that will help guide your treatment. Dr Froude takes care to explain his thinking and reasoning, involving you in the process, and approaching you as an individual. He will present the options for your care, taking into account what is most important to you, and carefully explaining what to expect as you make mutual decisions about how best to progress.

Follow Up Appointments

With a comprehensive working knowledge of pharmacology and the most up to date evidence and studies, Dr Froude will work with you to refine your treatment plan. Typically, he will see you monthly until your treatment is stable and no further changes are needed. At that point, he will see you every 3-6 months for maintenance appointments.

What is a psychiatrist?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions.

Unlike psychologists who complete PhD or PsyD degrees, a psychiatrist has completed four years of medical school to graduate with the MD degree. They then specialize to complete four years of psychiatry residency training that includes comprehensive education in diagnosis, psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, general internal medicine, emergency medicine, and neurology.
